"Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will."
My mantra for the last four months.
Yes :: f o u r m o n t h s.
It started in early April. Tyler and I sat down and rambled on in our usual fashion about how we were going to change the world - do great things - and create something new. I had mentioned several times that one day, wouldn't be nice to have a studio for rent and teach out of rather than spending most of my life inside of a car sitting in a parking lot on the freeway. One thing led to another and by 2:00 AM, we were on our whiteboard making plans.
This time, we decided, we were going to ACTIVATE. (Another mantra of ours - stolen from a fabulous couple who use this to get shit done around the household; "Tyler, do the dishes!" "I'll do them later." "ACTIVATE." Beep beep. Tyler has been recharged and is entering the kitchen. Great, right?)
Four months of planning, designing, eating and drinking (at the expense of the business), and we are excited to announce the launch of our business:
mPower Music Studios.
Offering private studios in Orange County for teaching, collaborating, and learning.
I can't even use the proper form of language to describe this process: exhilarating? terrifying? overwhelming?
I can say this - for the first time in my entire life, I did not proscrastinate on living. My mind has always been churning ideas for as long as I can remember, but how often do I do anything about them? The whole "it all started with an idea" is really about 20% true. How about, "it all started with an idea and a person willing to do something about it."
It's been quite a journey. Every single week brings something new to the table. Similar to that of having a child, our little baby business deserves a bit of remembrance for every crazy step we took to get there.
Take risks. ACTIVATE. Don't let your doubt be the killer of your dreams!
